Location – The North Wales Coast
Norbury Cottage is located in the delightfully picturesque village of Dwygyfylchi, three miles west of the historic town of Conwy, on the North Wales Coast on the northern edge of the Snowdonia National Park.
The old quarry town of Penmaen-mawr is one mile west of the village.
The North Wales region is easily accessible via the A55 dual-carriageway, connecting with the national trunk road and motorway networks.

The close proximity of the mountains Allt Wen (255 metres) and Foel Lus (362 metres) dominate the local views to the south and east of the village. To the north-west, are views across Conwy Bay to Anglesey (Ynys Mon) and Puffin Island (Ynys Seiriol), and to the north-east are views of the Great Orme peninsula beside the town on Llandudno.
Opposite Norbury Cottage is a footpath that leads down to the tree-lined ‘Afon Gyrach’ stream which then follows it inland towards Capelulo, the Fairy Glen, and the Sychnant Pass. Various paths then lead to Foel Lus (Jubilee Path) and Allt Wen.
A few yards from Norbury Cottage, just beyond the church and village hall, is the footpath down to the sea, taking you through pasture land, using the ‘Iron Bridge’ to cross the A55 road and to the beach.
Just beyond the village hall and the footpath to the beach, is the convenience store, hairdressers and Chinese take-away, located on Treforris Road. The post-box and public telephone are also here.
Dwygyfylchi also has a golf course: The Penmaenmawr Golf Course main entrance and club house is located on Old Conwy Road (Hen Ffordd Conwy).
